Advancing sectors outnumbered declining ones, with 24 sectors gaining ground compared to 13 that faced losses, resulting in an advancing-declining ratio of 1.85.
Leading the charge was the NIFTYPSUBANK sector, which rose by 1.17%. Notably, Bank of Maharashtra emerged as a key contributor, climbing 1.83%. The NIFTYCPSE sector also performed well, with a gain of 0.89%, driven by a significant 4.82% increase in NBCC shares. The S&P BSE Telecommunication sector added to the positive momentum, up 0.62%, largely thanks to Vodafone Idea's impressive 4.39% rise.

Conversely, the BSE IT sector faced challenges, declining by 1.16%, with Infosys and IRIS Business dragging down performance with losses of 2.58% and 4.99%, respectively. The NIFTYIT sector also struggled, down 1.03%. The NIFTYMETAL sector rounded out the laggards, falling by 0.89%, with National Aluminium dropping 2.35%.
