Indian Stock Market Experiences Volatility as Advance-Decline Ratio Stands at 0.18x

The Indian stock market is experiencing a downward trend today, with the BSE500 advance decline ratio at 0.18x and the BSE100, SMLCAP, and MIDCAP caps falling by 1.08%, 1.42%, and 1.65%, respectively. Mphasis, HEG, and Honasa Consumer are the top gainers, while Bajaj Auto, Himadri Special, and Havells India are the top losers. Upcoming results of MRPL, Oberoi Realty, and Tata Consumer are also being closely watched. Today, the Indian stock market is facing a downward trend as the advance decline ratio across BSE500 stands at 0.18x, with 75 advances and 424 declines. The BSE100, SMLCAP, and MIDCAP caps are also falling by 1.08%, 1.42%, and 1.65%, respectively.

In terms of top gainers, Mphasis is leading the pack with a 5.83% increase, followed by HEG at 3.66% and Honasa Consumer at 3.51%. On the other hand, Bajaj Auto is the top loser with a significant decline of 12.87%, followed by Himadri Special at 5.99% and Havells India at 5.93%.

Investors are also keeping an eye on the upcoming results of MRPL, Oberoi Realty, and Tata Consumer, all scheduled to be announced on October 18, 2024.

While large caps are trading flat today, Infosys is the top gainer with a 2.63% increase. In the mid-cap category, Mphasis continues to dominate with a 5.83% gain, while K&R Rail Engine is the top gainer in the small-cap category with a 15.96% increase. On the other hand, Bajaj Auto, BHEL, and Uflex are the top losers in their respective categories.

Out of 38 sectors, only 3 are advancing today, while 35 are declining. The NIFTYREALTY sector is the top loser with a decline of 3.76%, while the NIFTYIT sector is the top gainer with a 1.19% increase.

The SENSEX is currently trading at 81,006.61 with a loss of 494.75 points or 0.61%. After opening 256.71 points higher, the SENSEX fell sharply by 751.46 points. It is currently trading below its 50 Day Moving Average (DMA), which is also above its 200DMA. In the last 3 weeks, the SENSEX has lost 5.33%.
