Indian Stock Market Sees Mixed Trend, Sensex Falls by 0.24% with 11 Sectors Declining

Today, the Indian stock market had a mixed trend with the SENSEX trading at 71,425.30 with a loss of -170.19 points or -0.24%. Out of the 40 sectors, 11 advanced while 29 declined. The top gaining sector was BSE HC with a rise of 1.10%, while the top losing sector was S&P BSE Utilities with a decline of -2.22%. The advance-decline ratio was 0.55x, and the large caps were trading flat. Individual stocks such as Star Cement, Godfrey Phillips, and Jindal Worldwide were the top gainers, while SJVN, Amber Enterp., and Mishra Dhatu Nig were the top losers. The Sensex fell by -313.50 points after opening higher and is currently trading at 71,408.81 (-0.26%). Upcoming results from Oil India, Bosch, and Deepak Nitrite should be closely monitored by investors.

In terms of individual stocks, Star Cement, Godfrey Phillips, and Jindal Worldwide were the top gainers on the BSE500 index, with gains of 11.99%, 5.99%, and 5.58% respectively. On the other hand, SJVN, Amber Enterp., and Mishra Dhatu Nig were the top losers, with declines of -13.90%, -10.69%, and -9.86% respectively. After opening higher, the Sensex fell by -313.50 points and is currently trading at 71,408.81 (-0.26%). It is also 2.83% away from its 52-week high of 73,427.59. However, it is still trading above its 50-day moving average (DMA), with the 50 DMA trading above the 200 DMA. In terms of upcoming results, Oil India, Bosch, and Deepak Nitrite are set to announce their results on 13th February 2024. The large caps were trading flat today, with Divi's Lab being the top gainer with a rise of 3.92%. Aarti Industries and Rane (Madras) were the top gainers in the mid cap and small cap categories, with gains of 3.18% and 16.15% respectively. On the other hand, Yes Bank, SJVN, and Andhra Petrochem were the top losers in the large cap, mid cap, and small cap categories, with declines of -6.15%, -13.90%, and -12.60% respectively. Overall, the market is showing a mixed trend with some sectors and stocks performing well while others are facing losses. Investors should keep a close eye on upcoming results and market trends to make informed decisions.
