The market is being driven by upcoming results of major companies such as Avenue Supermarts, Network18 Media, and Reliance Industries, which are scheduled to be announced on 12th and 14th October 2024.
While the Sensex is currently trading below its 50 Day Moving Average (DMA), the 50DMA is still above its 200DMA, indicating a slightly bearish sentiment in the market. However, the small cap stocks are leading the market today, with BSE Small Cap gaining by 0.42%.
The advance-decline ratio across BSE500 is at 1.06x, with 257 advances and 242 declines. The SMLCAP and MIDCAP caps are rising by 0.42% and 0.37% respectively, while the BSE100 cap is falling by 0.1%. In terms of top gainers in the BSE500, Usha Martin is leading with a gain of 13.24%, followed by Bandhan Bank at 11.19% and Nippon Life Industries at 7.89%. On the other hand, Cummins India, CreditAccess Grameen, and Star Health Insurance are the top losers, with declines of -4.66%, -4.07%, and -3.96% respectively.
The large caps are trading flat today, with Persistent Systems being the top gainer at 3.98%. In the mid cap segment, Bandhan Bank continues to lead with a gain of 11.19%, while HLV is the top gainer in the small cap segment with a gain of 20.40%. On the other hand, Cummins India is the top loser in both the mid cap and small cap segments, with declines of -4.66% and -70.55% respectively.
Out of the 38 sectors, 22 are advancing while 16 are declining today. The top losing sector is NIFTYREALTY with a decline of -0.82%, while the top gaining sector is METAL with a gain of 1.25%. Overall, the SENSEX is currently trading at 81,385.55 with a loss of -225.86 points (-0.28%).
