Indian Stock Market Sees Mixed Trend, Small Caps Trade Flat

The Indian stock market is seeing a mixed trend today, with small caps trading flat while large and mid caps are showing some gains. Investors are eagerly waiting for the upcoming results of three major companies - Sundram Fasteners, Jubilant Food, and Petronet LNG, all scheduled to be announced on 22nd May 2024. In today's trading session, the top gainer in the large cap category is Bharat Electron with a gain of 6.80%, while Balkrishna Industries is leading the mid cap category with a gain of 9.86%. In the small cap category, DDev Plastiks is the top gainer with a significant gain of 15.74%. On the other hand, Tube Investments, Delhivery, and IFGL Refractories are the top losers in the large, mid, and small cap categories respectively. The SENSEX is currently trading at 74,045.94, with a gain of 40.00 points (0.05%). Out of the 40 sectors, 23 are advancing while 17 are declining. The metal sector is the top gainer with a gain of 3.33%, while the FMCG sector is the top loser with a decline of 0.72%. The advance-decline ratio across BSE500 is 0.88x, with 234 advances and 265 declines. The BSE Mid Cap index is leading the market with a gain of 0.23%, followed by BSE100 with a gain of 0.22%. The BSE Small Cap index, however, is trading flat with a slight decline of 0.11%. In the BSE500 index, Rail Vikas, Balkrishna Industries, and Poly Medicure are the top gainers with gains of 12.76%, 9.86%, and 9.73% respectively. On the other hand, Delhivery, Trident, and Triveni Turbine are the top losers with declines of 9.18%, 5.80%, and 5.59% respectively. After opening lower by 162.98 points, the SENSEX has recovered and is currently trading at 74,038.72 (0.04%). It is 1.47% away from its 52-week high of 75,124.28. The SENSEX is also trading above its 50-day moving average (DMA), with the 50 DMA trading above the 200 DMA. Overall, the market is showing a mixed trend with mid caps leading the gains and small caps trading flat. Investors are keeping a close eye on the upcoming results and the market movements to make informed decisions.
