Indian Stock Market Shows Mixed Sentiment, Small Cap Stocks Lead Gains

The Indian stock market opened flat today with a slight decrease of 0.15% in the Sensex. Small cap stocks are driving the market, with BSE Small Cap gaining 1%. However, large cap stocks are trading flat. The 50DMA is trading above the 200DMA, indicating a mixed sentiment. Eicher Motors, Suzlon Energy, and Banco Products are the top gainers, while P I Industries and Venus Pipes are the top losers. The market is being driven by small cap stocks, with BSE Small Cap gaining 1% today. However, large cap stocks are trading flat. One interesting trend to note is that while Sensex is trading below its 50 Day Moving Average (DMA), the 50DMA is trading above its 200DMA. This indicates a mixed sentiment in the market. The SMLCAP and MIDCAP segments are showing a positive trend, with a rise of 0.91% and 0.41% respectively. However, the BSE100 segment is falling by 0.03%. Out of the 37 sectors, 24 are advancing while 13 are declining. The top gaining sector is NIFTYMEDIA with a 2.13% increase, while the top losing sector is NIFTYFMCG with a decrease of 1.51%. In terms of individual stocks, Netwrk.18 Media is the top gainer in the BSE500 segment with a gain of 6.74%, followed by Eicher Motors and Kirloskar Oil with gains of 6.10% and 5.96% respectively. On the other hand, P I Industries, SKF India, and Astrazeneca Phar are the top losers with decreases of 6.38%, 6.04%, and 5.73% respectively. The SENSEX is currently trading at 77,564.11 with a loss of -126.84 points or 0.16%. Investors should keep an eye on the upcoming result of Waaree Energies on 18th November 2024.
