Leading the charge was the BSE Consumer Durables sector, which surged by 1.72%, driven primarily by Whirlpool India, whose stock soared by an impressive 10.71%. The NIFTY FMCG sector also performed well, gaining 1.71%, bolstered by Radico Khaitan's 3.00% increase. Additionally, the NIFTY Consumer sector rose by 1.38%, with Adani Power contributing a notable 4.39% to this upward trend.

On the downside, the BSE IT sector faced challenges, declining by 1.48%, largely due to Wipro's significant drop of 5.28%. The NIFTY IT and NIFTY Media sectors also struggled, with losses of 1.27% and 1.05%, respectively, the latter impacted by Zee Entertainment's decline of 4.16%.

Among the sectors, NIFTY FMCG exhibited the strongest advance-decline ratio at 10, indicating robust market activity, while the Metal sector lagged with a ratio of 0.08. Overall, today's market dynamics highlight a clear divide between sectors, with consumer-related industries thriving amidst broader market fluctuations.
