The Indian stock market exhibited a positive trend today, with the Nifty index climbing 190.40 points to close at 25,585.30, marking a gain of 1.03%. This upward movement brings the index within 0.33% of its 52-week high of 25,669.35. The Nifty has shown a robust performance over the past three weeks, gaining 3.77% and trading above its 50-day moving average, which is also above the 200-day moving average. In the broader market, the advance-decline ratio across the BSE500 was favorable, with 318 stocks advancing compared to 178 declining. The BSE100 index rose by 0.94%, while small-cap and mid-cap indices saw gains of 0.47% and 0.29%, respectively. Among the top gainers, Nestle India led the large-cap segment with a rise of 4.50%, while Oberoi Realty topped the mid-cap category with a gain of 5.62%. In the small-cap space, Share India Securities surged by an impressive 19.99%. Conversely, HDFC Life Insurance and KEI Industries were the notable losers, declining by 2.41% and 5.62%, respectively. The SENSEX also reflected this positive sentiment, trading at 83,467.66, up by 862.23 points or 1.04%. Overall, 37 out of 38 sectors advanced, with the NIFTY FMCG sector leading the charge with a gain of 2.02%.
