Among the sectors, the S&P BSE Telecommunication led the gains, rising by 2.90%, while the S&P BSE Utilities sector faced a slight decline of 0.25%. Overall, 29 out of 38 sectors advanced, showcasing broad market strength. The SENSEX also saw a minor increase, trading at 83,978.49 with a gain of 39.78 points or 0.05%.

The advance-decline ratio across the BSE500 was favorable, with 328 stocks advancing compared to 165 declining. Notable gainers included Wockhardt, which surged by 10.43%, and Vodafone Idea, up by 9.28%. Conversely, Zensar Technologies led the losses, dropping by 5.20%. In the large-cap segment, Shriram Finance emerged as a top gainer with a rise of 6.38%, while Maruti Suzuki fell by 3.37%.
