The Indian stock market exhibited a positive trend today, with a significant majority of sectors advancing. Out of 38 sectors, 32 recorded gains, while only 6 faced declines. The NIFTYPSUBANK sector emerged as the top performer, rising by 1.42%, while the NIFTYMETAL sector lagged, declining by 0.29%.
The SENSEX, after opening 137.72 points higher, is currently trading at 84,798.26, reflecting a gain of 235.48 points or 0.28%. Notably, the index is just 0.58% shy of its 52-week high of 85,290.06 and is trading above both its 50-day and 200-day moving averages, indicating a bullish trend.

In terms of individual stock performance, Hero MotoCorp led the large-cap gainers with a rise of 4.21%. Among mid-cap stocks, Bank of Maharashtra gained 3.28%, while VLS Finance surged by an impressive 18.03% in the small-cap category. Conversely, Tata Motors PVeh was the largest loser among large caps, falling by 4.62%, followed by mid-cap Astral at -3.07% and small-cap Gabriel India, which dropped by 11.80%.

The advance-decline ratio across the BSE500 stood at 316 advances to 184 declines, reflecting a healthy market sentiment. Mid-cap stocks are particularly strong today, with the BSE Mid Cap index rising by 0.56%.
