The index is currently below its 50-Day Moving Average, suggesting mixed market signals. The BSE Small Cap index gained slightly, while the NIFTYPSUBANK sector outperformed with a 1.64% rise. In a volatile trading session, the Sensex opened 176.83 points higher but ultimately fell by 187.43 points, settling at 80,354.34, reflecting a slight decline of 0.01%. The index is currently trading below its 50-Day Moving Average, which itself is positioned above the 200-Day Moving Average, indicating mixed market signals.

Among the sectors, the BSE Small Cap index emerged as a leader, gaining 0.03%, while the broader market saw 16 out of 37 sectors advancing against 21 that declined. The NIFTYPSUBANK sector was the top performer, rising by 1.64%, whereas the NIFTYMEDIA sector faced the most significant drop, declining by 1.31%.

In terms of individual stocks, Coforge led the large-cap gainers with a rise of 3.38%, while Ola Electric topped the mid-cap segment with a gain of 3.48%. The small-cap space saw IFGL Refractories surge by 18.15%. Conversely, Dixon Technologies and Inventurus Knowledge were among the largest losers in the large and mid-cap categories, falling by 3.51% and 3.76%, respectively. Notably, Man Industries plummeted by 11.43% in the small-cap sector.

The advance-decline ratio across the BSE500 stood at 255 advances to 241 declines, indicating a slight edge for advancing stocks. As the market navigates these fluctuations, investors are keenly awaiting upcoming results, including HDB Financial Services on October 15, 2025.
