The top gainer in the BSE500 was 3M India, surging by 10.96%, followed by Hitachi Energy at 6.97% and City Union Bank at 6.61%. Conversely, Tata Consumer emerged as the top loser, dropping by 3.00%, along with Affle 3i and Godfrey Phillips, which fell by 2.90% and 2.67%, respectively.

Sector performance was also varied, with the S&P BSE Telecommunication sector gaining 1.67%, while the S&P BSE Utilities sector faced the most significant decline at 0.91%. The Sensex remains 1.62% shy of its 52-week high, trading above both its 50-day and 200-day moving averages, suggesting a resilient underlying trend despite today's fluctuations.
