SENSEX Dips 0.12% Amid Negative Market Breadth; Muthoot Finance Soars 9.78%

The Indian stock market experienced a mixed performance today, with the SENSEX trading at 84,373.32, down by 105.35 points or 0.12%. The index opened lower at 84,060.14, reflecting a loss of 418.53 points or 0.5% at the start of trading. Currently, the SENSEX is just 1.12% shy of its 52-week high of 85,290.06 and remains above its 50-day moving average, which is also above the 200-day moving average.Among the sectors, 14 out of 37 advanced while 23 declined, with the NIFTY IT sector leading the losses at 1.47%. Conversely, the BSE CD sector emerged as the top gainer, rising by 0.43%. Small-cap stocks showed slight resilience, with the BSE Small Cap index gaining 0.03%.
In terms of individual stock performance, Muthoot Finance led the BSE500 with a notable gain of 9.78%, followed by Jubilant Food and Zen Technologies. On the downside, Premier Energies was the biggest loser, falling by 4.35%, alongside Sonata Software and Galaxy Surfactants. The advance-decline ratio across the BSE500 stood at 216 advances to 281 declines, indicating a challenging day for many investors.
