The Indian stock market experienced a mixed session today, with the SENSEX trading at 81,771.58, down by 155.17 points or 0.19%. The index opened flat, reflecting a slight decline of 27.24 points. Despite the downturn, the SENSEX remains just 2.85% shy of its 52-week high of 84,099.53 and is currently above its 50-day moving average, which is also above the 200-day moving average.
The broader market showed a significant disparity in performance, with an advance-decline ratio of 144 advances to 354 declines across the BSE500. Among the sectors, only four out of 38 managed to advance, with the BSE IT sector leading the gainers at 1.31%. In contrast, the NIFTYREALTY sector was the biggest loser, declining by 1.39%.

Top gainers in the BSE500 included ITI, which surged by 12.98%, followed by Sonata Software at 6.03% and Aster DM Healthcare at 4.86%. On the downside, KIOCL led the losses, plummeting by 6.93%, while Anant Raj and NLC India fell by 4.58% and 4.41%, respectively. In the large-cap segment, Titan Company emerged as a standout gainer, rising by 4.19%.
