After an initial rise of 110.83 points, the index faced a decline of 332.58 points, reflecting a volatile trading session. Currently, the SENSEX is just 1.13% shy of its 52-week high of 85,290.06 and remains above its 50-day moving average, which is also positioned above the 200-day moving average.
In sector performance, the METAL sector emerged as the top gainer, rising by 1.15%, while the NIFTY FMCG sector was the biggest loser, declining by 1.15%. Among the broader market, the BSE Mid Cap index saw a slight increase of 0.04%, contrasting with a minor decline in small caps, which fell by 0.13%.

Notable gainers included PTC India Fin, which surged by 15.09%, followed by National Aluminium with a 4.27% increase. On the downside, Hind. Unilever led the losses among large caps, dropping by 3.41%, while small cap Mercury EV-Tech fell by 6.84%. Overall, the advance-decline ratio across the BSE500 stood at 201 advances to 297 declines, indicating a challenging day for many investors.
