The Indian stock market experienced a mixed performance today, with 18 out of 38 sectors advancing while 20 sectors declined. The NIFTYCPSE sector emerged as the top gainer, rising by 0.84%, while the REALTY sector faced the most significant decline, dropping by 1.13%.
The advance-decline ratio across the BSE500 reflected a challenging day for investors, with 192 stocks advancing compared to 307 declining, resulting in a ratio of 0.63x. Mid-cap stocks showed slight declines, with MIDCAP caps falling by 0.07%, BSE100 caps down by 0.22%, and SMLCAP caps decreasing by 0.23%.

Among the top gainers in the BSE500, Hindustan Copper led with a rise of 6.11%, followed by KIOCL at 5.47% and eClerx Services at 4.53%. Conversely, Tata Investment Corporation saw the largest loss at -4.55%, with Aditya Birla Fashion and Sonata Software also declining by 3.36% and 3.12%, respectively.

The Sensex opened lower, down by 141.32 points, and is currently trading at 81,500.26, reflecting a loss of 0.26%. Despite the downturn, the index remains above its 50-day moving average, which is also above the 200-day moving average, indicating a longer-term bullish trend.
