SENSEX Dips 0.35% Amid 143 Advancers; 3M India Soars 17.55% in Volatile Session
The Indian stock market faced a decline today, with the SENSEX closing at 83,681.57, down 0.35%. Despite being close to its 52-week high, the index reflected broader market weaknesses, as only three of 38 sectors advanced. The S&P BSE Utilities sector was the biggest loser, while the Telecommunication sector saw modest gains. Notable individual performances included 3M India and Hitachi Energy, which surged, while Hero MotoCorp and Fischer Medical faced significant losses. The Indian stock market experienced a downturn today, with the SENSEX closing at 83,681.57, down by 296.92 points or 0.35%. After a flat opening, the index fell sharply, reflecting broader market trends. The SENSEX is currently 1.92% away from its 52-week high of 85,290.06 and remains above its 50-day moving average, which is also above the 200-day moving average.In terms of sector performance, only three out of 38 sectors advanced, while a significant 35 sectors declined. The S&P BSE Utilities sector was the top loser, down by 1.42%, while the S&P BSE Telecommunication sector gained 1.01%.
Among individual stocks, 3M India led the mid-cap gainers with a remarkable increase of 17.55%, followed closely by Hitachi Energy at 13.48%. In contrast, Hero MotoCorp was the largest large-cap loser, declining by 4.08%, with Fischer Medical suffering the most among small caps, down by 11.47%. The advance-decline ratio across the BSE500 stood at 143 advances to 357 declines, indicating a challenging day for investors.
