In terms of sector performance, the NIFTYMETAL sector emerged as the top gainer, rising by 1.03%, while the BANKEX sector was the biggest loser, declining by 0.77%. Among individual stocks, Hindalco Industries led the large-cap gainers with a rise of 3.99%, while Cipla was the largest loser in the large-cap category, down 3.74%. In the mid-cap space, National Aluminium gained 3.61%, while Supreme Industries fell by 3.78%. The small-cap segment saw Utkarsh Small Finance Bank surge by 17.82%, contrasting with Arihant Capital's significant drop of 11.06%. Overall, the market showed a challenging day with 196 advances against 301 declines across the BSE500.
