Sensex Drops 326 Points Amidst 0.24 Advance-Decline Ratio; Bombay Burmah Soars 6.31%

The Sensex fell by 326.09 points to close at 84,716.28, remaining close to its 52-week high. Despite the overall downturn, Bombay Burmah, GMR Airports, and Atul emerged as top gainers, while Kaynes Tech led the losses. The market continues to trade above key moving averages, indicating potential resilience.
The Indian stock market experienced a challenging session today, with a significant majority of sectors declining. Out of 38 sectors, only one managed to advance, while 37 faced losses. The NIFTYREALTY sector was the hardest hit, dropping by 1.56%, while the NIFTYMEDIA sector saw a modest gain of 0.14%.The advance-decline ratio across the BSE500 reflected a bearish sentiment, with only 95 stocks advancing compared to 404 declining, resulting in a ratio of 0.24. The BSE100, MIDCAP, and SMLCAP indices all recorded declines, falling by 0.38% and 0.71%, respectively.
Among the top gainers in the BSE500, Bombay Burmah led with a rise of 6.31%, followed by GMR Airports at 4.50% and Atul at 3.78%. Conversely, Kaynes Tech was the top loser, down 4.37%, followed by KIOCL and GMDC, which fell by 3.78% and 3.35%, respectively.
The Sensex opened positively but ultimately fell by 326.09 points, closing at 84,716.28, a decline of 0.28%. It remains just 0.68% shy of its 52-week high of 85,290.06, trading above its 50-day moving average, which is also above the 200-day moving average.
