The Indian stock market experienced a downturn today, with the Sensex dropping 368.08 points to close at 82,782.07, reflecting a 0.63% decline. This follows a weak opening and leaves the index 3.03% below its 52-week high. The advance-decline ratio on the BSE500 was heavily skewed, with 384 stocks declining against only 116 advancing. Mid-cap and small-cap indices also fell, while the TECK sector led losses. Despite this, L&T Finance and a few others posted gains. Market sentiment remains cautious ahead of key earnings reports from major companies.
