The Nifty index closed at 25,910.05, up by 30.9 points, marking a 0.12% increase. Notably, the Nifty is currently just 0.75% shy of its 52-week high of 26,104.20, and it remains above its 50-day moving average, which is also positioned above the 200-day moving average.
In sector performance, 24 out of 37 sectors advanced, with the NIFTYPSUBANK sector leading the way, gaining 1.17%. Conversely, the BSE IT sector faced a decline of 1.16%. Small-cap stocks showed strength, with the Nifty Small Cap 100 index rising by 0.38%.

Among individual stocks, Ipca Labs emerged as the top mid-cap gainer, surging by 14.72%, while GE Power led the small-cap segment with a remarkable gain of 17.92%. On the downside, Premier Energies fell by 6.23%, and Allcargo Terminals experienced a significant drop of 14.82%. The advance-decline ratio across the BSE500 stood at 226 advances to 272 declines, indicating a slight overall bearish sentiment in the market.
