The Sensex opened 189.36 points higher and is currently trading at 82,993.16, reflecting a gain of 0.47%. This positions the index just 1.33% shy of its 52-week high of 84,099.53. Over the past three weeks, the Sensex has appreciated by 3.19%, indicating a robust upward momentum. Notably, the index is trading above its 50-day moving average, which is also above the 200-day moving average.

In terms of individual stocks, Axis Bank led the large-cap gainers with a rise of 2.69%, while Oberoi Realty and Share India Securities stood out among mid and small caps, gaining 4.13% and 17.48%, respectively. Conversely, HDFC Life Insurance and KEI Industries were the top losers in their categories, declining by 2.79% and 4.81%. The overall advance-decline ratio across the BSE500 was favorable, with 354 advances compared to 146 declines, highlighting a strong market sentiment.
