The Indian stock market exhibited a robust performance today, with the SENSEX rising by 407.07 points, or 0.48%, to close at 85,035.23. This marks a significant climb from an initial flat opening, as the index surged 371.55 points during the trading session. Notably, the SENSEX is now just 0.3% shy of its 52-week high of 85,290.06 and has gained 3.07% over the past three weeks.
Out of 38 sectors, a remarkable 36 advanced, led by the S&P BSE Utilities sector, which gained 2.86%. In contrast, the NIFTYAUTO sector faced a decline of 0.50%. The advance-decline ratio across the BSE500 was notably positive, with 337 advances compared to 160 declines, reflecting a ratio of 2.11x.

Among the top gainers in the BSE500, Blue Dart Express surged by 14.57%, followed by Adani Green at 11.99% and Varun Beverages at 9.56%. On the downside, Cohance Life and Motilal Oswal Financial Services were the top losers, declining by 7.67% and 7.57%, respectively.

Overall, large-cap stocks led the market's upward momentum, with the BSE100, SMLCAP, and MIDCAP indices also showing gains of 0.56%, 0.48%, and 0.46%, respectively.
