This marks a new 52-week high for the index, which opened at 85,154.15, up by 727.81 points. The market saw a strong advance-decline ratio across the BSE500, with 284 stocks advancing compared to 215 declining, indicating a healthy market breadth.
Among the sectors, the NIFTYIT emerged as the top gainer, rising by 3.16%, while the OILGAS sector faced a slight decline of 0.41%. Large-cap stocks led the charge, with Infosys gaining 4.69%, followed closely by mid-cap Bharat Forge at 4.44%. In the small-cap segment, Mafatlal Industries stood out with an impressive gain of 14.50%.

On the downside, Dixon Technologies was the largest large-cap loser, down 2.48%, while Muthoot Finance and Uniparts India fell by 3.88% and 9.35%, respectively. Overall, the market's positive momentum is underscored by the BSE100 and MIDCAP indices rising by 0.71% and 0.47%, respectively, while small caps remained flat.
