The Indian stock market exhibited a robust performance today, with a significant advance-decline ratio of 2.68x across the BSE500, reflecting 364 advances against 136 declines. The SENSEX rose by 715.69 points, closing at 80,983.31, marking a gain of 0.89%. Similarly, the Nifty index increased by 225.2 points, or 0.92%, finishing at 24,836.30.
Small-cap stocks led the charge, with the Nifty Small Cap 100 index climbing by 1.1%. The SMLCAP segment rose by 1.16%, while MIDCAP and BSE100 caps followed with gains of 0.91% and 0.83%, respectively. Among the sectors, NIFTYMEDIA emerged as the top performer, advancing by 3.97%, while NIFTYPSUBANK faced a slight decline of 0.37%.

In terms of individual stocks, Sun TV Network was the standout gainer, surging by 15.33%. Other notable gainers included AIA Engineering and KPIT Technologies, which rose by 6.27% and 5.93%, respectively. On the downside, JSW Holdings led the losses, dropping by 5.00%, followed by Delhivery and NLC India, which fell by 3.38% and 3.05%. Overall, the market displayed a positive trend, with most sectors and stocks contributing to the upward momentum.
