Bharti Airtel Reports Strong Q2 FY24-25 Growth Amid High Debt Concerns

Bharti Airtel, a leading player in the telecommunications service provider industry, has recently undergone an adjustment in evaluation. This revision reflects the company's robust financial metrics and market position. In the latest quarter, Q2 FY24-25, Bharti Airtel reported a notable annual growth rate in net sales of 13.38%, alongside an impressive operating profit growth of 49.76%.
The company has consistently delivered positive results over the last three quarters, with operating cash flow reaching a peak of Rs 78,898.20 crore and an operating profit to interest ratio of 4.03 times. Additionally, Bharti Airtel's return on capital employed (ROCE) stands at 13, indicating a fair valuation relative to its enterprise value to capital employed ratio of 3.7.

With a market capitalization of Rs 9,22,116 crore, Bharti Airtel commands a significant share of the telecommunications sector, accounting for 82.92% of the industry. The company has demonstrated consistent returns over the past three years, outperforming the BSE 500 index. However, it also carries a high debt burden, reflected in its debt-to-equity ratio of 2.57 times, which may impact its profitability per unit of shareholder funds.
