Mazda, a microcap player in the engineering sector, has recently undergone an adjustment in evaluation, reflecting the company's current market dynamics. The latest financial data reveals a flat performance for the third quarter of FY24-25, with net sales reported at Rs 46.78 crore, indicating a decline of 13.32% compared to the previous period. Additionally, the profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter stands at Rs 7.42 crore, down by 10.2%, with earnings per share (EPS) reaching a low of Rs 0.74.

Over the past five years, Mazda has experienced modest growth, with net sales increasing at an annual rate of 0.95% and operating profit at 7.89%. Despite its microcap status, the company has not attracted significant interest from domestic mutual funds, which hold no stake, potentially reflecting concerns about its valuation or business outlook.

The stock has underperformed the broader market, generating negative returns of 12.84% over the last year, while the BSE 500 index has returned 3.09%. With a low debt-to-equity ratio and a return on equity (ROE) of 13.5, Mazda's valuation appears fair, although it trades at a premium compared to its peers.
