Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers (RCF), a notable player in the fertilizers sector, has recently experienced an adjustment in its evaluation by MarketsMOJO. This revision comes in light of the company's financial performance for the second quarter of FY24-25, which has shown a flat trajectory. While interest surged by 45.90% to Rs 146.47 crore, a significant portion of profit before tax—40.05%—stemmed from non-operating income, raising questions about the sustainability of its earnings.

RCF's return on capital employed (ROCE) is currently at 6.5, reflecting a high valuation, as evidenced by an enterprise value to capital employed ratio of 1.9. Over the past year, the stock has delivered a modest return of 3.69%, but profits have taken a substantial hit, declining by 57.1%. The minimal stake of just 0.33% held by domestic mutual funds further indicates a cautious sentiment regarding the company's valuation and future business outlook.

Despite these challenges, RCF has demonstrated healthy long-term growth, with net sales increasing at an annual rate of 12.99% and operating profit rising by 35.64%. However, the technical trend for the stock remains sideways, suggesting a lack of clear price momentum. In light of these factors, RCF has been added to MarketsMOJO's list, reflecting the ongoing scrutiny of its market position and performance indicators.
