Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd Sees Surge in Put Options Activity with 26,603 Contracts at Rs 5000 Strike

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), a prominent player in the Aerospace & Defense sector, has emerged as one of the most active stocks in terms of put options today. The company’s stock, currently valued at Rs 5016.0, has seen significant trading activity in its put options with various strike prices set for expiry on May 29, 2025.
The put option with a strike price of Rs 5000 led the activity, with 26,603 contracts traded and a turnover of Rs 5078.84 lakhs. Following closely, the Rs 4900 strike price option recorded 16,225 contracts traded, generating a turnover of Rs 2091.82 lakhs. Other notable strike prices include Rs 4800 with 16,716 contracts and Rs 4950 with 11,127 contracts traded, reflecting a robust interest in these options.

Despite this activity, HAL's stock has underperformed the sector by 1.91% today, marking a consecutive decline over the past two days with a total drop of 3.87%. The stock reached a day’s low of Rs 4880, down 2.72%. However, it remains above its 5-day, 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day moving averages, indicating a longer-term positive trend.

Investor participation has seen a slight decline, with delivery volume dropping by 1.8% compared to the 5-day average. Nevertheless, the stock maintains sufficient liquidity for trading, with a market cap of Rs 3,29,050.68 crore, solidifying its position in the large-cap category. Overall, the activity in HAL's put options highlights a significant engagement in the market, reflecting the current dynamics surrounding the stock.
