Interglobe Aviation's Call Options Surge: 4,722 Contracts at Rs 6000 Strike Traded Today

Interglobe Aviation Ltd, operating under the brand INDIGO, has emerged as one of the most active stocks in the airline sector today. The company, with a market capitalization of Rs 2,33,087 crore, has seen significant trading activity in its call options, particularly for expiry dates extending into 2025.
Notably, the call option with a strike price of Rs 5800 recorded 3,059 contracts traded, generating a turnover of Rs 130.50 lakh, while open interest stood at 547 contracts. Another active option, with a strike price of Rs 5900, saw 4,475 contracts traded and a turnover of Rs 42.96 lakh, with open interest at 1,392. The call option at a strike price of Rs 6000 also attracted attention, with 4,722 contracts traded and a turnover of Rs 655.46 lakh, alongside an open interest of 1,590.

In terms of price performance, Interglobe Aviation has faced challenges, experiencing a decline of 5.41% over the past two days, including an opening gap down of 2.89% today. The stock reached an intraday low of Rs 5755, reflecting a 4.88% drop. Despite these setbacks, the stock remains above its 100-day and 200-day moving averages, although it is currently below its 5-day, 20-day, and 50-day moving averages.

Overall, the airline sector has also seen a downturn, with a 4.18% decline, mirroring the challenges faced by Interglobe Aviation. The rising delivery volume, which increased by 101.14% against the 5-day average, indicates heightened investor participation, suggesting a dynamic trading environment.
