Keystone Realtors Faces Volatility Amid Declining Profits and Market Underperformance

Keystone Realtors, a midcap player in the construction and real estate sector, has experienced significant volatility today, hitting a new 52-week low of Rs. 491.55. This decline marks a continuation of a downward trend, with the stock underperforming its sector by 1.72% and recording a total drop of 5.51% over the past three days.
The company's recent financial performance has raised concerns, as it reported a substantial decrease in profit before tax (PBT) and profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter ending December 2024, with declines of 32.7% and 60.6%, respectively. Additionally, its return on capital employed (ROCE) stands at a low 4.86%.

Despite these challenges, Keystone Realtors maintains a low debt-to-equity ratio of 0.04, indicating a manageable level of debt. The company has shown impressive long-term growth, with net sales increasing at an annual rate of 96.96% and operating profit at 83.52%. However, over the past year, the stock has underperformed the broader market, with a return of -26.06% compared to the Sensex's gain of 9.61%.
