Mangalore Refinery Reports Strong Profit Metrics Amid Mixed Cash Flow Performance

Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals (MRPL) has recently undergone a financial trend adjustment, reflecting a notable shift in its performance metrics for the quarter ending September 2025. The company reported a significant operating profit to interest ratio, reaching 6.79 times, alongside a record PBDIT of Rs 1,488.60 crore. Other key indicators also showed strong results, with the operating profit to net sales at 6.57%, profit before tax (PBT) less other income at Rs 902.10 crore, and a net profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 627.36 crore, translating to an earnings per share (EPS) of Rs 3.58.
However, not all aspects of MRPL's financial health are robust. The operating cash flow for the year stands at Rs 1,877.90 crore, marking a lower performance in this area.

In terms of market performance, MRPL's stock has shown varied returns compared to the Sensex. Over the past week, the stock returned 0.10%, while in the last month, it outperformed the Sensex with a return of 13.76%. However, year-to-date, MRPL has seen a decline of 1.92%, contrasting with the Sensex's gain of 6.35%. Over a longer horizon, MRPL has demonstrated substantial growth, with a 150% return over three years and an impressive 469.47% over five years, compared to the Sensex's respective returns of 43.47% and 107.84%.
