Maruti Suzuki Sees Surge in Call Options with 28,601 Contracts at Rs 15,000 Strike

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, a prominent player in the automobiles sector, has emerged as one of the most active stocks today, particularly in the options market. The company’s underlying stock, MARUTI, is currently valued at Rs 14,680, just 3.06% shy of its 52-week high of Rs 15,240.
Today, the stock saw significant activity in call options set to expire on September 30, 2025. The most notable was the call option with a strike price of Rs 15,000, where 28,601 contracts were traded, resulting in a turnover of approximately Rs 3164.84 lakhs and an open interest of 9,215 contracts. Another active strike price was Rs 15,500, with 15,978 contracts traded and a turnover of Rs 616.11 lakhs, while the Rs 16,000 strike price saw 14,877 contracts traded, contributing Rs 206.20 lakhs to the turnover.

Despite this activity, Maruti Suzuki's stock underperformed its sector by 0.26% today, with a narrow trading range of Rs 91. The stock remains liquid, with a delivery volume of 4.04 lakhs, reflecting an 11.32% increase compared to its five-day average. Overall, Maruti Suzuki continues to maintain a strong market position with a market cap of Rs 4,65,693.09 crore.
