Max Healthcare Reports Record Sales Amid Rising Interest Expenses and Profitability Pressures

Max Healthcare Institute has recently undergone a financial trend adjustment, reflecting a more stable performance in its latest quarter ending March 2025. The company reported its highest net sales at Rs 1,909.74 crore, alongside a peak in PBDIT at Rs 511.62 crore and PBT less other income at Rs 355.58 crore. Additionally, the profit after tax reached Rs 319.00 crore, with earnings per share also at a record high of Rs 3.28.
However, the company faces challenges, particularly with interest expenses, which have surged to Rs 107.60 crore, marking an 87.39% increase over the last six months. This has resulted in a lower operating profit to interest ratio of 9.27 times, indicating pressure on profitability.

In terms of market performance, Max Healthcare's stock has shown resilience, with a year-to-date return of 3.35% and a notable 37.82% increase over the past year, significantly outperforming the Sensex, which recorded a 9.70% return in the same period. Over three years, the stock has surged by 211.08%, compared to the Sensex's 49.44% growth, highlighting its strong market position despite current financial pressures.
