MCX Sees Surge in Active Put Options as 4,812 Contracts Exchange Hands at Rs 8,000

Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (MCX) has emerged as one of the most active stocks in the options market today, particularly in the put options segment. Notably, the put option with a strike price of Rs 8,500 recorded 3,551 contracts traded, generating a turnover of approximately Rs 910.88 lakhs, while the Rs 8,000 strike price option saw 4,812 contracts traded, contributing Rs 539.04 lakhs to the turnover. The open interest for these options stands at 1,123 and 1,591 contracts, respectively, indicating ongoing interest among traders.

The underlying value of MCX is currently at Rs 8,863, and the stock has recently reached a new 52-week and all-time high of Rs 9,075, reflecting a 2.67% increase today. Over the past three days, the stock has gained 7.77%, outperforming its sector by 0.35%. Additionally, MCX is trading above its 5-day, 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day moving averages, showcasing a strong upward trend.

With a market capitalization of Rs 45,245.75 crore, MCX remains a significant player in the capital markets sector. The liquidity of the stock is robust, with a delivery volume of 335,000 shares on June 26, marking a 41.67% increase compared to the five-day average. Overall, the activity in MCX's put options reflects a dynamic trading environment as the stock continues to perform well in the market.
