Ponni Sugars Reports Strong Liquidity and Sales Growth Amid Mixed Financial Indicators

Ponni Sugars (Erode), a microcap player in the sugar industry, has recently undergone a financial trend adjustment, reflecting a notable improvement in its performance metrics for the quarter ending September 2025. The company reported cash and cash equivalents reaching a record high of Rs 426.90 crore, indicating strong liquidity. Additionally, net sales for the quarter stood at Rs 113.73 crore, showcasing a growth rate of 24.6% compared to the previous four-quarter average.
Key performance indicators also highlight the company's operational efficiency, with the highest recorded PBDIT at Rs 17.29 crore and an operating profit to net sales ratio of 15.20%. Profit before tax, excluding other income, reached Rs 14.56 crore, while profit after tax was reported at Rs 13.28 crore, resulting in an earnings per share of Rs 16.93.

However, not all metrics reflect positive trends. The profit after tax over the latest six months has shown a decline, growing at -53.90%, which raises concerns about sustainability.

In terms of market performance, Ponni Sugars has demonstrated resilience, with a one-week return of 9.18%, significantly outperforming the Sensex's 0.31% return. Despite a challenging year-to-date performance, the company has shown potential for recovery, particularly in the short term.
