Surge in Active Call Options for Tata Motors: 12,055 Contracts at Rs 710 Strike Price

Tata Motors Ltd., a prominent player in the passenger car segment of the automobile industry, has emerged as one of the most active stocks today. The company’s options activity reflects significant trading interest, particularly in call options set to expire on May 29, 2025.
Notably, the call option with a strike price of 750 saw the highest volume, with 11,119 contracts traded and a turnover of approximately Rs 227.68 lakhs. Following closely, the 710 strike price option recorded 12,055 contracts traded and a turnover of Rs 830.76 lakhs. Other active strike prices included 690, 730, and 740, with respective contract volumes of 8,630, 8,836, and 10,642.

Despite this trading activity, Tata Motors has underperformed its sector by 2%, with the stock experiencing a consecutive decline over the past two days, resulting in a total drop of 3.79%. The stock opened down 2.5% today, reaching an intraday low of Rs 686.25. While the stock remains above its 5-day, 20-day, and 50-day moving averages, it is currently below its 100-day and 200-day moving averages.

In terms of liquidity, Tata Motors maintains a trading capacity sufficient for a trade size of Rs 7.42 crores, although delivery volume has decreased by 28.63% compared to its 5-day average. Overall, the activity surrounding Tata Motors highlights a dynamic trading environment amid recent performance challenges.
