Thermax, a midcap player in the heavy electrical equipment sector, has recently undergone a financial trend adjustment reflecting its performance in the quarter ending September 2025. The company reported a notable decline in its financial metrics, with a significant drop in its score over the past three months.

On the positive side, Thermax achieved its highest operating cash flow at Rs 1,042.79 crore and maintained robust cash and cash equivalents of Rs 1,293.90 crore. Additionally, the debtors turnover ratio reached a commendable 4.70 times, indicating efficient management of receivables.

However, several challenges have emerged. The profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter fell to Rs 119.66 crore, marking a decline of 39.3%. Key performance indicators such as return on capital employed (ROCE) and operating profit to interest ratio also hit their lowest levels, at 14.05% and 5.35 times, respectively. Furthermore, net sales decreased by 5.42%, and the operating profit to net sales ratio was recorded at a low of 6.95%.

In terms of market performance, Thermax's stock has underperformed compared to the Sensex over various time frames, particularly in the year-to-date and one-year comparisons, where it reported declines of 25.97% and 41.14%, respectively. Despite a strong five-year performance, the recent trends highlight the need for strategic adjustments to navigate current market challenges.
