Torrent Power Reports Strong Performance Metrics Amid Mixed Market Trends

Torrent Power has recently undergone a financial trend adjustment, reflecting a notable improvement in its performance metrics for the quarter ending September 2025. The company reported an operating cash flow of Rs 4,804.91 crore, marking a significant achievement. Additionally, the operating profit to net sales ratio reached 19.12%, while the profit after tax (PAT) surged to Rs 723.71 crore, demonstrating a robust growth of 50.5%. The profit before depreciation, interest, and taxes (PBDIT) also hit a high of Rs 1,505.84 crore, and the profit before tax, less other income, stood at Rs 901.19 crore. However, not all indicators are favorable. The return on capital employed (ROCE) is at a low of 14.21%, and the debt-to-equity ratio (DPR) is also concerning at 32.04%. Furthermore, cash and cash equivalents have dipped to Rs 304.12 crore, and the debtors turnover ratio is at a low of 8.35 times. In terms of market performance, Torrent Power's stock has shown mixed results compared to the Sensex. Over the past week, the stock returned 2.46%, outperforming the Sensex's 1.65%. However, on a year-to-date basis, it has underperformed with a decline of 12.16%, while the Sensex has gained 8.38%. Over the longer term, the company has demonstrated impressive growth, with a 585.67% return over the past decade, significantly outpacing the Sensex's 230.68%.
