Trident, a midcap textile company, has hit a new 52-week low, continuing a downward trend with significant losses over the past week. The company has faced declining operating profits and negative results for five consecutive quarters, while domestic mutual funds show minimal investment interest. Despite challenges, Trident demonstrates strong debt servicing capability.
Trident, a midcap player in the textile industry, has experienced significant volatility today, hitting a new 52-week low of Rs. 24.25. This decline marks a continuation of a downward trend, with the stock underperforming its sector by 0.78% and recording a loss of 5.93% over the past six days.

The company's performance metrics reveal a challenging landscape, with a one-year return of -35.69%, starkly contrasting with the Sensex's positive performance of 1.91% during the same period. Trident's operating profit has declined at an annual rate of -4.15% over the last five years, and it has reported negative results for five consecutive quarters. Key financial indicators show a significant drop in profit before tax (PBT) and profit after tax (PAT), with net sales reaching their lowest at Rs. 1,667.09 crore.

Despite its midcap status, domestic mutual funds hold a mere 0.32% stake in Trident, suggesting a lack of confidence in the company's current valuation or business prospects. The stock's technical indicators remain bearish, reflecting a deteriorating trend since January 2025. However, Trident maintains a strong ability to service its debt, evidenced by a low Debt to EBITDA ratio of 1.07 times.
