UltraTech Cement Sees Surge in Put Options: 5,424 Contracts at Rs 12,000 Strike

UltraTech Cement Ltd has emerged as one of the most active stocks in the options market today, particularly in the put options segment. The company, a significant player in the cement industry with a market capitalization of Rs 3,45,717.60 crore, has seen notable trading activity in its put options expiring on May 29, 2025.
Two key strike prices have attracted attention: the Rs 11,500 put option, which recorded 4,794 contracts traded and a turnover of Rs 371.47 lakh, and the Rs 12,000 put option, with 5,424 contracts traded and a turnover of Rs 887.32 lakh. The open interest for these options stands at 1,318 and 1,945 contracts, respectively, indicating a significant level of engagement from traders.

Despite this activity, UltraTech Cement's stock has underperformed its sector by 1.03% today, with a one-day return of -1.15%. The stock is currently trading close to its 52-week high, just 4.95% away from Rs 12,339. It has been on a downward trend, experiencing a consecutive fall over the last three days, resulting in a total decline of 3.92%.

The stock's liquidity remains robust, with a delivery volume of 2.87 lakh shares on April 29, reflecting a 29.32% increase compared to the five-day average. Overall, UltraTech Cement's recent put option activity highlights a dynamic trading environment, even as the stock navigates a challenging performance landscape.
