Why is Star Paper Mills Ltd. falling/rising?

06-Sep-2026

As of 05-Sep, Star Paper Mills Ltd. is facing a stock price decline to 151.00, down 1.72%. This is due to underperformance against its sector, negative trends over time, erratic trading, and limited price movement.

As of 05-Sep, Star Paper Mills Ltd. is experiencing a decline in its stock price, currently at 151.00, which reflects a change of -2.65 (-1.72%). This downward movement can be attributed to several factors.

Firstly, the stock has underperformed against its sector by -1.68% today, indicating that it is not keeping pace with its peers. Additionally, the stock has shown a negative trend over various time periods, with a year-to-date decline of -8.21% and a one-year drop of -13.74%. This suggests a longer-term weakness in the stock's performance compared to the broader market, as the Sensex has only decreased by -10.21% year-to-date and -5.21% over the past year.

Moreover, the stock has been trading erratically, having not traded on one day out of the last 20 days, which may contribute to investor uncertainty. Although there has been a rise in delivery volume by 88.06% against the 5-day average, the overall performance remains weak, as indicated by the stock's narrow trading range of just Rs 1.

In summary, the combination of underperformance relative to the sector, negative trends over multiple time frames, erratic trading patterns, and limited price movement are contributing to the decline in Star Paper Mills Ltd.'s stock price.
