Are Cupid latest results good or bad?

Cupid, a small-cap player in the FMCG sector, has reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025. The key takeaway from these results indicates challenges in maintaining profitability, as evidenced by a significant year-on-year decline in Profit After Tax (PAT) of 30.66%, amounting to Rs 22.59 crore. Additionally, the Profit Before Tax (PBT) for the latest quarter stands at Rs 16.04 crore, reflecting a decrease of 5.7% compared to the average PBT of Rs 17.01 crore from the previous four quarters.
In terms of sales performance, Cupid reported a Net Sales growth of 21.86% for the quarter ended March 2025, which is an improvement compared to the 11.55% growth in the previous quarter. However, the Standalone Net Profit growth for the same period is at 4.62%, a decline from the 9.96% growth noted in the previous quarter.

The Operating Profit Margin, excluding other income, has seen a slight reduction, moving from 33.98% in December 2024 to a lower percentage in the latest quarter. Furthermore, the company has experienced an adjustment in its evaluation over the past three months.

Overall, these results suggest that while there are some positive trends in sales growth, the underlying profitability metrics indicate challenges that the company is currently facing.
