Bengal & Assam Company Reports Significant Declines in Key Financial Metrics for May 2025

Bengal & Assam Company, a midcap player in the Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) sector, has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025. The results, declared on May 29, 2025, indicate a challenging period for the company, with notable declines in key financial metrics.
The Profit Before Tax (PBT) for the quarter stands at Rs 62.39 crore, reflecting a significant year-on-year decline of 24.46%. Similarly, the Profit After Tax (PAT) has also decreased, reported at Rs 222.82 crore, marking a year-on-year drop of 28.4%. Furthermore, net sales over the latest six months have shown a substantial decline, recorded at Rs 1,010.17 crore, which represents a year-on-year decrease of 76.51%.

Additionally, the company's reliance on non-operating income has become more pronounced, constituting 33.07% of the PBT. This trend raises concerns regarding the sustainability of the business model, as the non-operating income reached its highest level in the last five quarters at Rs 30.82 crore.

In light of these developments, Bengal & Assam has experienced an adjustment in its evaluation, with its score shifting to -20 from -30 over the past three months.
