Ponni Sugars Reports Q3 FY24-25 Results Amid Declining Profitability Metrics

Ponni Sugars (Erode), a microcap company in the sugar industry, has released its financial results for the third quarter of FY24-25, which reflect a challenging period for the company. The evaluation changes indicate a shift in the company's financial score, now at -17, a notable adjustment from -7 over the past three months.
The company's net sales reached Rs 115.74 crore, showcasing a growth of 34.2% compared to the average net sales of Rs 86.25 crore from the previous four quarters. This aspect of the financial results stands out as a significant highlight.

Conversely, the results also point to substantial declines in profitability metrics. The profit before tax (PBT) is reported at Rs 1.69 crore, representing a decrease of 73.7% from the average PBT of Rs 6.44 crore in the prior four quarters. Similarly, the profit after tax (PAT) has dropped to Rs 2.41 crore, down 74.3% from an average of Rs 9.39 crore. Furthermore, the company's debtors turnover ratio has reached its lowest level in five half-yearly periods at 11.04 times, suggesting a slowdown in the collection of debts.
