SpiceJet, a smallcap airline company, has reported a flat performance in the first quarter of 2024. However, there has been a significant improvement in its score and a 191.4% increase in Profit After Tax. On the other hand, there are concerns about falling PBT and Net Sales, and the sustainability of its Non Operating Income. Investors should carefully consider these factors before investing.

SpiceJet, a smallcap airline company, has recently declared its financial results for the quarter ending June 2024. The company has received a ‘Strong Sell’ stock call from MarketsMOJO.

According to the financial report, SpiceJet’s performance has remained flat in the first quarter of 2024. However, there has been a significant improvement in the company’s score, which has increased from -15 to -4 in the last three months.

One of the positive aspects of SpiceJet’s financials is the growth in its Profit After Tax (PAT) for the quarter. The company has recorded a PAT of Rs 127.14 crore, which is a 191.4% increase compared to the average PAT of the previous four quarters. This indicates a positive trend in the near future.

On the other hand, there are some areas of concern for SpiceJet. The Profit Before Tax less Other Income (PBT) for the quarter has fallen by -19.0% compared to the average PBT of the previous four quarters. The company’s Net Sales have also decreased by -7.2% compared to the average of the previous four quarters. Additionally, the company’s Non Operating Income is significantly higher than its PBT, which may not be a sustainable business model. Moreover, the Non Operating Income for the quarter is the highest in the last five quarters, which raises questions about its sustainability.

Overall, SpiceJet’s financial performance for the first quarter of 2024 has been mixed. While there are some positive aspects, there are also some concerns that need to be addressed. Investors should carefully evaluate the company’s financials before making any investment decisions.
