The Indian stock market exhibited mixed performance today, with the Nifty closing at 24,651.00, reflecting a modest increase of 16.1 points or 0.07%. Despite this slight uptick, the index remains below its 50-day moving average, which is currently positioned above the 200-day moving average, indicating a potential divergence in market trends.
The advance-decline ratio across the BSE500 showed 275 stocks advancing compared to 223 declining, suggesting a positive sentiment among investors. However, the broader market saw 17 out of 38 sectors advancing, with the NIFTYPSUBANK sector leading the gains at 1.93%. Conversely, the NIFTYMEDIA sector faced a decline of 1.16%.

Among the top gainers, Tata Investment Corporation surged by 17.71%, followed by Ola Electric at 4.98% and National Aluminium at 4.85%. On the downside, KPIT Technologies led the losses with a significant drop of 9.89%, while Hitachi Energy and Zydus Wellness fell by 6.09% and 5.37%, respectively.

The SENSEX traded at 80,267.62, down by 97.32 points or 0.12%, reflecting the cautious sentiment in the market. Overall, while large caps remained relatively flat, mid and small caps showed varied performances, with IFGL Refractories leading small caps with an impressive gain of 18.91%.
