The Company's emphasis lies on securities, quoted or otherwise, of Swiss and foreign corporations, which are subject to particular corporate events such as spin-offs, acquisitions, recapitalizations and reorganizations, or circumstances including valuation anomalies or technical market situations. Alpine Select AG’s investment portfolio is primarily comprised of quoted securities. As of December 31, 2011, the Company’s investments included Absolute Invest AG, Absolute Private Equity AG, AIRE GmbH & Co KGaA, Atrium V Ltd, BB Biotech AG and HBM Bioventures AG, among others.
