Are Bengal Tea & Fab latest results good or bad?

13-Nov-2025

Bengal Tea & Fabrics' latest results show a significant net profit increase of 375.24% year-on-year, reaching ₹4.99 crores, but revenue declined by 18.09% to ₹19.60 crores, raising concerns about sustainability and operational challenges. Overall, while profitability has improved, the declining sales trend suggests caution for investors.

Bengal Tea & Fabrics' latest results present a mixed picture. On one hand, the company reported a significant increase in net profit for Q2 FY26, reaching ₹4.99 crores, which is a remarkable 375.24% improvement year-on-year. This suggests that the company has managed to enhance its profitability, likely due to better cost management and some favorable non-operating income.

However, the revenue figures tell a different story. The company experienced an 18.09% decline in revenue year-on-year, bringing it down to ₹19.60 crores. While this represents a substantial 113.74% increase from the previous quarter, the overall trend of declining sales over the past few years raises concerns about the sustainability of the profitability gains. The company has seen its revenues contract significantly from ₹110 crores in FY20 to just ₹53 crores in FY25.

Additionally, the operating margin decreased to 25.0%, down from 28.63% a year earlier, indicating some operational challenges. The reliance on other income for profitability is also a critical concern, as it suggests that the core business operations are not performing strongly enough to sustain profits independently.

Overall, while the increase in net profit is a positive sign, the underlying revenue decline and operational challenges indicate that the results are not entirely favorable. Investors should be cautious and consider the broader context of the company's performance.
