The Bank is structured into five business segments: the Retail banking segment provides consumer and commercial murabahat, Ijara, Islamic covered card and funds transfer facilities and trade finance facilities; the Wholesale banking segment provides financing and other credit facilities and deposits and current accounts for corporate and institutional customers; the Private banking segment offers financing and other credit facilities, deposits and current accounts for high-net worth individual customers; the Capital markets segment covers money market brokerage, trading and treasury services, and the Real estate segment undertakes the acquisition, selling, development and leasing, among others. On September 1, 2014, the Bank and Barclays PLC sold Barclays' United Arab Emirates (UAE) retail banking business.
